Can you deduct cosmetic surgery costs on income tax?

I had my sinuses cleaned and had the surgeon also a number of cosmetic surgery on her nose to perform at the same time. I was told what was billed insurance but was not comfortable because of the cover made cosmetic surgery. The cost can be deducted as medical expenses on income tax? No, because it is an elected procedure. Yes. If you meet the deduction (7% "of revenue), all medical procedures are deductible. Cosmetic surgery is not deductible. If insurance does not cover, nor will the IRS. Only sinus component (be sure to be exact). Not all medical treatments are deductible, cosmetic / reconstructive surgery can be drawn in a limited number of cases. In your situation, the cost to correct an error, so you can breathe properly be deductible. But part of the operation to improve the appearance of the nose should not be tax deductible. There are cosmetic - it is not medically necessary care if a part of the process can be separated from the cosmetics (Ask your doctor if you can) as part of medically necessary, may be deducted if you know the rules to deduct other medical expenses ( specify, on the basis of only the part that has more than 75% of revenues). Plastic surgery is not deductible on your taxes .
